I share your 2 alleys.
I wear glasses since 2010 too, I’m short-sighted and sometimes I forget my glases somewhere. It’s quite hilarious seeing someone waving hello to you and you stay there, just waving back to be polite, but wondering and asking the friend near you who that person was. To me, it happens all the time!
So how can you improve the situation and without stressing too much your eyes?
Well, since 2015 I got more into nutrition as I didn’t feel very well. A friend of mine introduced me to specific supplements; that’s when I learnt about nutraceuticals. It means specific food with a precious source of minerals, antioxidants and vitamins.
In this case I cover 2 of them that help your eyes being more relaxed and safe:
The 1st one is omega 3: how it can be helpful
Getting involved in these topics, I really enjoy reading articles and, as you may not know yet, DHA (one of the main types of omega 3, more details here METTERE LINK A NEXT ARTICLES CON TIPI DI OMEGA 3) is a major component of the retina of your eyes and your brain (in fact omega3 is incredible for concentration problems).
Honestly speaking, I had no idea DHA plays such a great role for our eyes! What’s even more important is that a lack of it may cause serious vision problems. Thank to omega 3, macular degeneration of this delicate part of your body could be prevented, ..sounds great right!?
Where do I can find great omega 3?
Well, if you want a quick snack you can rely on dried fruit like walnuts, but if you’re interested in long-term prevention there’s nothing better than fish oils! Here and in this other article LINK A NEXT ARTICLES CON TIPI DI OMEGA 3 you can learn more about the difference between a plant based omega 3 and the one from fish oil.
The 2nd one are blueberries!
I love blueberries! And you should too. Here’s why.
First and foremost, you can associate berries with blue and purple peel with the best mixture of antioxidants and vitamins!
Second, being the retina such a fragile place, it must be protected from the oxidative stress that comes from the external world. Food like blueberries, rich in antioxidants and phytonutrients, are very appreciated for the help they provide. That’s because they destroy free radicals, which are molecules that damage our cells.
As I said before, in blueberries you find carotenoids, flavonoids (like resveratrol or quercetin), in addition to others such as vitamin C, A and E, selenium, phosphorus and zinc.
If you combine omega 3 with a pure source of antioxidants like blueberries not only your eyes are grateful and look less puffy, but also your whole body benefits from them!
I hope this short article serves you and as always I love your stories and ideas, so feel free to share them in the comments below.
